Τhe single-reed pipe is a clarinet type instrument, with a single blade reed. On its upper edge, which is closed by the knot of the cane, it has a thin reed cut into the wall of the cylinder speaker. When played, this part should be inside the mouth where, by blowing, the reed pulses and produces sound. It consists of two parts made of cane: tongue-and-groove (like the clarinet) and a pipe with five notes.
